The Royal Event with HRH Princess Michael Of Kent
Backes & Strauss together with CCF UK had the honour to be hosted by HRH Princess Michael of Kent, Royal Patron of CCF, at Kensington Palace.
At the event, Backes & Strauss launched their new Vitesse Collection. These beautifully crafted watches are the result of a collaboration with HRH Princess Michael of Kent. They are being sold in support of the CCF of which HRH is the Royal Patron. Cheetahs are Africa’s most endangered species and only less than 7,500 remain in the wild.
HRH’s interest in Cheetahs dates back to her childhood in Mozambique where she raised and cared for an orphaned Cheetah cub called Vitesse (Tesse).
“Time is of the essence to protect what remains of the worldwide Cheetah population, which currently sits at around 7,000 and continues to decline… The plight for cheetahs is an urgent matter, as being the oldest cat species, they can breed only in the wild and require full protection in their natural habitat.” - mentioned Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent during her speech.
“We are delighted to have worked so closely with HRH Princess Michael to create a very special collection of watches in support of her passion for Cheetahs and the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Having spent much of his early years growing up in Africa, our CEO, Mr. Knadjian is also aware of the many of the challenges wildlife in the region is facing and when learning HRH Princess Michael was a patron to such a wonderful cause he decided he would like to support her love of Cheetahs in some way.” – added Nick Tolfree, Brand Development Manager at Backes & Strauss, while presenting the Vitesse Collection.
“The health and prosperity of people and of wild species are tied together. To secure a future for cheetahs, we must first address the needs of the people that share their landscape. That is why the work of CCF is so important. Our holistic training and conservation programmes help people to live and thrive alongside all wildlife... Thank you, Your Royal Highness, for giving us a platform to highlight the desperate plight of the cheetah, and to Backes and Strauss for your valued support. We urge you all to support the cheetah's race for survival. It is only by Uniting for Cheetahs that we can save this iconic species from extinction." - as noted by Dr. Laurie Marker, the founder of Cheetah Conservation Fund.
As proud partners, we are #UnitingForCheetahs to secure their future.
