Backes & Strauss Unveils the Berkeley King Titan Tourbillon
An addition to the previously released Piccadilly 45 King Tourbillon and Berkeley King Tourbillon 43 collections, the new Berkeley King Titan timepiece features a custom tourbillon, prominently displayed through the cutaway dial.
The new tourbillon is adorned with Backes & Strauss’ distinctive arrow motif, drawing inspiration from the Hearts & Arrows pattern seen when examining an Ideal Cut diamond through a special loupe. The elegant white mother-of-pearl dial is embellished with seven baguette-cut diamonds serving as hour markers, accompanied by a total of 116 white Ideal Cut diamonds.
When you turn the watch over, the open case back reveals the automatic tourbillon movement, complete with an engraved London skyline on the rotor. The remaining parts of the movement are adorned with a total of 184 white Ideal Cut diamonds. All of this is housed within a lightweight, polished titanium case.
As the world’s oldest diamond company (est. 1789), Backes & Strauss has constantly looked forward, pioneering new diamond-cutting techniques and enthralling connoisseurs with its compelling designs.
Today, Backes & Strauss is part of the Franck Muller group. Backes & Strauss and the Franck Muller Group are masters of the art and science of their respective crafts. While Backes & Strauss is occupied with light and Franck Muller is concerned with time, both share a devotion to mathematical precision.
The result of this meeting of masters is a collection of timepieces so intricate; they are veritable masterpieces both inside and out.
