SIAR 2022 – Backes & Strauss makes a debut in Mexico
Backes & Strauss was delighted to make its debut at the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR) 2022 in Mexico City, the most important and dynamic event for the watch industry in Central America.
Along with over 50 other watch brands, Backes & Strauss showcased its collections and novelties to clients and press over the course of the three-day event.

SIAR is most important watch show in Central America taking place each year at the St Regis Hotel in Mexico City. For over 15 years it has been presenting the most prestigious watch brands to press and clients from across Mexico and the greater region. 2022 has been an exciting year for Backes & Strauss and taking part in SIAR will certainly be seen as a highlight for the brand. This is the first time that the brand has been present in Central America and it was interesting to see the reaction of the Mexican clients who were incredibly receptive and welcoming.
Over the three-day event Backes & Strauss presented many of its unique creations alongside their most recent launch, the Dani Alves Trophy Collection which received praise by all who tried it on and recognised it as a bold move for the brand, fusing its British heritage and design with an ultra-modern bespoke skeletonised tourbillon movement. Backes & Strauss was delighted to take part in such a prestigious event and is looking forward to the future in Central America.

Private Experience at Berger
Working alongside Artis Distribution, the exclusive agent for Backes & Strauss in Mexico, the house was invited to take part in the Berger Private Client Experience, a three-day event hosted prior to SIAR. Berger is the leading luxury watch and jewellery retailer in Mexico City and hosts the event each year for both press and their VIPs to get an early viewing of what many of the brands will be exhibiting at SIAR itself. For Backes & Strauss this was the very first time their watches were presented to the decerning watch enthusiasts of Mexico.
