DESCRIPTION
In days of old, the jester was no fool. As key member of a ruler's inner circle, his role was considered vital to the smooth running of the royal court. His humorous antics were often seen as the fruit of divine inspiration and his position was viewed as one of extreme privilege: even being required to criticise his master at times.
The Backes & Strauss Royal Jester is so named because of the same circular theme, that the Jester would have been at the centre of. However, a single, round diamond weighing 0.80cts takes the Jester’s place at the centre of the circle of this Royal watch to perform a striking routine sure to attract the same crowds.
This bespoke luxury watch is available in both a 36mm version and a 40mm version. At the centre of this diamond watch shines either the finest D-E-F colourless diamond or a pink, blue or yellow diamond. This unique timepiece further oozes elegance on the side of the case, where 80 baguette diamonds are invisibly set.
Further baguettes can be seen between the discreet, crimson hour and minute markers, which are ingeniously mounted on crystal discs to create the impression that they are simply floating, unconnected to any mechanism, in the great tradition of the mystery timekeeper, Franck Muller. These minute markers are driven by a superb mechanical watch movement with 36 hours of power reserve.
