Backes & Strauss’ latest timepiece joins the fervent Emperor Tourbillon collection, the British luxury brand’s very first series of timepieces crafted with a special bespoke hand-winding skeleton tourbillon movement, first released in 2016. Whilst its predecessors come in rose – or white gold, the brand-new Titan is finished with brushed titanium, making it lighter in weight.

The tourbillon carriage is set in a bespoke rotating frame decorated by Backes & Strauss’ signature arrows motif, which stems from the arrows pattern visible when viewing an Ideal Cut diamond from above the crown. The tourbillon carriage of this unique timepiece does a complete rotation every 60 seconds and is attached to the case at 1,3,5,7,9 and 11 o’clock, set with specially-cut tapered diamonds. The central inner frame resembles the same shape as the case and a polished diamond in profile is set at twelve o’clock on the outer bridge. The movement has a power reserve of 72 hours.

The Titan will be available in very limited numbers, highlighting the brand’s understanding of luxury, inspired by a bygone era where figures of authority would commission the best craftsmen to build the most original creations. Backes & Strauss’ latest collection is truly a Meeting of the Masters, where the master diamond setter and polisher, and the master watchmaker combine their shared passion for mathematical precision to create veritable masterpieces both inside and out.
